You head out onto the Adelaide River, deep in Top End wetland country. Wild saltwater crocodiles in their own water, sea eagles and whistling kites overhead, and a guide who knows this river and tells its real stories.
100% wild crocodiles
One of the most croc-packed stretches of the Adelaide River. You see them in their element, never captive, never farmed.
Wetlands and birdlife
Sea eagles, whistling kites and the open floodplain. The river is alive well beyond the crocs.
Guides who belong here
Local knowledge, real stories, and a connection to this Country you cannot fake.
Three operators run this river. Here is the difference.
Aboriginal-owned
The only jumping crocodile cruise where every ticket supports an Aboriginal community, with profits returned to Groote Eylandt.
A captain and a guide on every boat
The only jumping crocodile tour that runs two crew, so there is always a second set of eyes on the water and on you.
An animal ethics policy
An industry-first policy, developed with NT Parks & Wildlife, for how the wildlife is treated. We hold it because it is right.
We could tell you we are the real thing. Instead, this is just how we run.
Year-round, four cruises a day.
Departures at 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm, every day but Christmas. No minimum numbers, so they always run. Our causeway entrance sits above the floodplain, so we keep going when weather slows other operators.
The practical bits.
Fair questions.
How far is it from Darwin?
Under an hour’s drive to the Adelaide River on a sealed road. Allow about three to four hours door to door, including the cruise, so it slots into a single morning.
When do cruises run?
Four cruises daily, at 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm. There are no minimum numbers, so they always run. Booking ahead is recommended through the dry season.
Will I actually see crocodiles?
The Adelaide River holds one of the densest wild saltwater crocodile populations anywhere. They are wild animals, so we never stage or promise a single moment. Sightings are the norm, not the exception.
Is it safe?
A captain and a guide on every boat, and a safety-first operation. It is the first thing we organise the trip around.
Can children come along?
Yes, children of all ages are welcome on board.
Is the cruise accessible?
Yes. Please get in touch with us before you book so we can make sure we have everything in place to accommodate you comfortably.
What happens if the weather turns?
We operate year-round, every day but Christmas. Our causeway entrance sits above the floodplain, so we are less affected by weather than other operators.
